Spraying uPVC windows and doors

This can dramatically improve their appearance and extend their lifespan. Here’s our step by step guide to help you do it professionally and safely.

  • PREPARATION

    Clean the Surface Thoroughly.
Use a uPVC cleaner or Degreaser on a clean cloth. All silicone should be removed from the perimeter of the window and to at least 5mm below the surface so that the window can be re-sealed later.

  • MASKING

Protect areas like brick, render, glass, and seals from overspray.

Use Masking tape along the edges of the uPVC.
masking Paper, plastic sheeting. should be used for larger areas

  • ABRADE

Use a Sanding Sponge or 600-grit sandpaper.
Lightly rub the entire surface — the aim is to dull the sheen, not remove the material.
Ensure consistent abrasion across the frame without gouging the uPVC. Important: Don’t skip this step — All paints require a key to bond.

  • SPRAYING

UPVC PRO is a 1K Polyurethane that does not require a primer, this paint bonds direct to UPVC and other hard plastic surfaces. Spray in smooth, overlapping passes, maintaining a consistent distance (about 6–8 inches). 150 - 200mm,
Apply 2–3 light coats rather than one thick coat.
Allow 10 -15 Minutes drying time between coats.

  • CLEANING

Carefully remove tape and masking materials before the paint fully hardens to avoid peeling, Inspect the finish for runs or missed spots,
Lightly sand and recoat if necessary.
