Radiator Project

Prepare the radiator

Turn the heating off and let the radiator cool completely. Clean it thoroughly to remove dust, grease, and loose paint. Lightly sand glossy or damaged areas, then wipe away any dust.

Protect and prime

Cover nearby walls and flooring with dust sheets or masking tape. Apply a metal primer suitable for radiators if the surface is bare metal or the existing paint is damaged. Allow it to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Spray paint in thin coats

Use a radiator-safe spray paint. Hold the can about 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) from the surface and spray in smooth, sweeping motions. Apply several light coats rather than one heavy coat, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. Let the paint fully cure before turning the heating back on.
